How Public Pulse collects and presents data

One Vote Per Question

Each registered user may cast one vote per question while a poll is open. Votes are tied to verified accounts to prevent duplicate submissions. Voting is not transferable or reversible once submitted.

Anonymization & Aggregation

All voting data is aggregated and anonymized before being displayed. Individual responses are never shown. Demographic breakdowns (age range, province, gender) are shown only as group percentages and only when sufficient responses exist to prevent identification.

Voluntary Participation

Participation in all polls is completely voluntary. Results are not weighted, adjusted, or corrected for demographic representativeness. Public Pulse results reflect the opinions of self-selected registered users only.

Not Statistically Representative

Poll results on Public Pulse are not statistically representative of the broader Canadian population. No random sampling, weighting, or margin-of-error calculations are applied. Results should not be cited as scientific polling data.

Question Neutrality

All poll questions are reviewed for neutral wording before publication. Questions are designed to present issues without leading language or bias. Civic issue questions are rewritten by the editorial team from user-submitted reports.

Poll Cycles

Polls run on a weekly cycle. Once a poll closes, results are finalized and published. Historical results remain accessible for reference.
